Privacy Policy of the Valuation Division Ministry of Finance

The Valuation Division (VD) Ministry of Finance (MOF) is committed to respecting your privacy. We’ve structured our website so that, in general, you can visit VD on the Web without identifying yourself or revealing any personal information. Once you choose to provide us with personally identifiable information (any information by which you can be identified), you can be assured that it will only be used to support your customer relationship with Valuation Division.

Awareness

VD provides this Online Privacy Statement to make you aware of our privacy policy and practices and of the choices you can make about the way your information is collected and used. What we collect

When you request information or use our interactive services through this site, we need to know your e-mail address, your name and postal address.

In order to tailor our subsequent communications to you and continuously improve our services, we may also ask you to provide us with information regarding your personal or professional interests, demographics, property information, experience with our services and contact preferences.

How we use it

Valuation Division uses your information to better understand your needs and provide you with better service. The information provided will be used to perform a task in the public interest and in the exercise of our functions as a government department, these will include to:

Who we share it with 

VD will not sell, rent, or lease your personally identifiable information to others. Unless we have your permission or are required by law, we will only share the personal data you provide online with other MOF entities and/or business partners who are acting on our behalf for the uses described above. Such MOF entities and/or business partners are governed by our privacy policies with respect to the use of this data and are bound by the appropriate confidentiality agreements.

Choice

VD will not use or share the personally identifiable information provided to us online in ways unrelated to the ones described above without first letting you know and offering you a choice. As previously stated, we will also provide you the opportunity to let us know if you do not wish to receive unsolicited direct marketing materials from us and we will do everything we can to honor such requests.

VD is committed to ensuring the security of your information. To prevent unauthorized access or disclosure, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the appropriate use of information, we have put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online. We use encryption when collecting or transferring sensitive data such as credit card information.

Children’s Privacy Protection

Our services are not designed for, or intentionally target at children.  We therefore do not intentionally collect or maintain data about children.

Log Files

Valuation Division follows a standard procedure of using log files. These files log visitors when they visit websites. All hosting companies do this and a part of hosting services’ analytics. The information collected by log files include internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet Service Provider (ISP), date and time stamp, referring/exit pages, and possibly the number of clicks. These are not linked to any information that is personally identifiable. The purpose of the information is for analyzing trends, administering the site, tracking users’ movement on the website, and gathering demographic information.

Cookies and Web Beacons

Like any other website, Valuation Division uses ‘cookies’. These cookies are used to store information including visitors’ preferences, and the pages on the website that the visitor accessed or visited. The information is used to optimize the users’ experience by customizing our web page content based on visitors’ browser type and/or other information.
